| Who
am I and What is my difference ? I have decided to reveal a few hidden details, essentially reserved for the professionals, often unknown by many merchants and dealers. But they are known by all my customers. The reasons is: During the last couple of years, the invasion of the kilim market by some individuals, exhibiting themselves as specialists and connoisseurs in old Anatolian kilims!. Not only they have no idea what is a kilim, without execrating, they do not even merit the right to touch any of the unpleasant newly made kilims. (see chapter" what is hand made&how to find"). I was born in a troglodyte house, on a kilim, 1953 just before the big summer migration to the high steps of Cappadocia. Brought up, amusing on Kilims and sleeping in a kilim cradle. From the moment I heard my mother exclaiming this kilim says "EAT ME" while discussing with other women of the tribe. It became the main occupation of my childhood to discover what was eatable on the kilim, fondling and examining every detail on each flatweave in the tribe. Finally I discovered at the age of 12 when a kilim told me to "EAT IT" while it was waiting a buyer on an elderly man's shoulder. Seeing that kilim triggered off my childhood disease for kilims. Having no other choice than to buy it, which I did, against a kilim-bag full of wheat. (Almost a three months civil servant salary) Since then, "I have the sickness of kilim" as we say in Turkey, since kilim and I became inseparable, thinking this relationship would last forever, was the biggest mistake of my life. Because, these types of Kilims have disappeared from Anatolia. Nevertheless, I have managed to build up an important collection of good old kilims. Which I now wish to share with amateurs. Just let me know what you are looking for, I will do my best to satisfy your demand. PROMMIS OF AN OFFICAL EXPERT.
